Description Established in 1961, Smithville Animal Hospital has been actively serving the veterinary needs of Clay and Platte County. Our original clientele was mostly farm based, lots of cattle and swine and long days spent in the farm lots and calf barns. As the agriculture gave way to suburbia, we changed with it, growing our hospital in size and technology. The farm animal needs diminished while the dogs, cats and horses soared in numbers. Today we offer a full range of both medical and surgical services that include dentistry, internal medicine, orthopedic surgical services, nutritional counseling as well as boarding and grooming. We offer a full selection of medical and life stage diets as well. We are conveniently located on the main highway, across the street from McDonalds.
