The Smithville wildlife management area is open to the public for Hunting. Areas marked “Wildlife Management Areas” are open year around whereas areas marked “Waterfowl Refuge” in the Honker Cove Waterfowl Refuge are open seasonally for hunting, fishing and trapping.

Fishing, archery, trapping, small game, turkey, deer, bird, and other Missouri licenses and permits are required for residents and
non-residents.
